I was heading to school last Friday. Weather-wise, it was perfect, in the sense that it finally stopped raining after God knows how long. Although the sunshine wasn't exactly penetrating through all the layers of clouds and it was a watery kind of sunshine morning, I found myself marveling at how beautiful the morning was, and appreciating God's creation for what it is.
Later that afternoon we had AutoCAD submission and presentation, and as usual, my group (for some reason) was rushing to finish it, and as usual (again), we handed in late. I seriously hate groupwork. It's not that we didn't finish most of the work the day before, but it was due to a serious lack of communication that led to the late submission. That totally spoiled it for me. I wanted to be a nerd this year and do well in all my assignments but this just blows. I hate groupwork. I mean, if it's just 4 people in a group, I wouldn't mind, but there were 7 of us and it was like a mini Miss Universe 'cos 3 of them were Indonesians, 1 was Vietnamese, and the other 3 were local, and hence the miscommunication. And things just seemd to spiral downwards from there because when Jaya and I rushed off in a cab to plot the CAD out at 2pm (which was when we were supposed to submit), we realised that the work was saved in the wrong thumbdrive, there was an urgent job before our turn and we had to wait at least half an hour before we could print. But Shariel was nice enough to offer to pick us up from the printing place, and he wasn't even in our group.
After the disastrous submission and presentation, which turned out alright in the end, I went to NTUC to buy butterpaper, and while in the queue, this lady asked me to queue in front of her because I only had 2 items to pay for. So nice of her.
At night, I slept without curtains again and feeling strangely exposed, I noticed that the way I put my bed allowed me full view of the night sky, and while lying down and looking up into the sky, I saw the full moon and realised again, how beautiful God's creation was. It was very much a surreal landscape painting kind of beauty. Haunting, and yet at the same time, enthralling.
