Superman Returns

Watching a movie in JB sure beats watching one in Singapore. I paid RM 6 for a show. That's like $2.60 in Singapore, and a weekday movie ticket here costs $6.50..or is it $7 now? I lost track. Eversince the price hike, I've personally boycotted all cinemas in Singapore [like that helped]. Anyway, back to the JB movie experience. Initially, I expected a cockroach and rat infestation in the theatre with weirdly stained seats, but nope. It was under Cathay Cineplex and the seats were clean, not that I could see anything in the dim recesses of the theatre and if it won't for the little lights on the stairs, I would have rolled down. The aircon was cold and there weren't any creepy crawlies running about [again, it was dark so I couldn't tell].

Superman Returns was a great show, although some people would beg to differ. I heard from Nigel that some of his friends thought the show stunk because there weren't any fight scenes. But c'mon, would a fight against Superman be any more interesting as say..punching a brick wall? Even his eyeballs are bulletproof for crying out loud, how can anyone ever engage him in a meaningful fight sequence. Unless of course one has kyrptonite on hand and thus renders Superman as powerful as an ant, and then the only fight sequences would involve alot of kicking and punching [on the baddie side], and one man in tights rolling around the floor in pain. So, fight scenes aside, I thought the show was pretty good, or as good as a $2.60 movie can get. Brandon Routh was cute too. I've decided that I want my very own superhero (image of Winston prancing around in his Superman get-up..let's not even go there *shudders*).
