New Pastime

Parousia - I Will Let You Lead

I find vegging out in front of the TV rather enjoyable. I just plonk myself in front of Telly and watch show after show till I nod off, and then wake up 15 mins later in the middle of some dumb kids puppet show, and continue watching, before heading off for waterpolo. Only setback is that I have to endure shows like Humphrey which is full of bad singing, bad acting, and bad dance moves. These make totally retarded shows like The Fimbles actually enjoyable. But since I don't have anything better to do...Telly it is.

Match against the Toa Payoh guys today. I was watching the match before ours, SAFSA vs Queenstown, and I realised Lionel Lee (one of the national swimmers, for those who don't know) plays for SAFSA and he is F-A-S-T. We're playing SAFSA tomorrow. If we can't even beat Toa Payoh, we're cooked. Whoever marking Lionel Lee has my sympathies. Just hope I never end up having to do that. I'll die. He'll swim circles around me.

Match was rather entertaining. Wasn't as stressful as the one yesterday. Maybe it's because we know the Toa Payoh guys pretty well so it's just a friendly game since we always play with them anyway. Spoke to Uncle David (our team manager) for a while and what he said made me re-think the second thoughts that I had about continuing in polo. I was contemplating to actually quit since I never look forward to training, but Uncle David told me today that I can click well with the girls, and he told me not to be afraid to score, so long as I keep trying, and he believes that I'll be ready enough to join the big girls in 7-8 months time so long as I train hard. After what he said, I started thinking that maybe sticking around wouldn't be such a bad idea after all, so with renewed vigour and confidence, Tracy returns. Muahahahaha (a "I'm-gonna-conquer-the-world" laughter).

Was watching Miss Universe 2005 just now. I realised all of the contestants have certain similarities. Long hair, tall, slim, and the absence of glasses. Gives me the impression that although society advocates inner beauty, all these pageants sure do otherwise. Throw in a bespectacled female of average height and short hair and without a stick-thin figure as a top finalist and it'll be enough to shatter the miserable dreams of these pageant organisers and the world. I mean, she wouldn't even have to win. Being a finalist would be enough.

Trying to kill this irritating-dengue-fever-causing mosquito that's flying around my room. I could have skooshed it just now but it landed on my laptop and I didn't want to smear the mosquito guts and blood all over my lappie so now I've lost it again. AUGH! May you die and rot somewhere in my room. Just don't bite me.

Listening to 'I Will Let You Lead' by Parousia. Think the song sends a really powerful message about placing God as our top priority, and letting Him take control of our lives and letting Him lead. I think it's meaningful and if anyone is interested in listening and singing along, click on the link at the top.
