Well, Christmas is over

Christmas is one hectic period of time. For the past 2 days I have been sleeping at 430 am in the morning and I slept at 530 am this morning and then woke up at 730 am to go for Christmas service. Worse than exam time. Little surprise that I nodded off towards the end of intercession (I'm sorry God). I really tried staying awake but I lost the battle.

For the past 3 days or so, my room has been converted into Santa Claus' Toy Factory. I'm serious. There was mass production of cards and envelopes going on. Table strewn with glow-in-the-dark glitter, glue, scissors, pen knife, paper, construction paper and what have you. I think I haven't been able to see my table till now. Presents strewn haphazardly on my sofa. Wraping paper everywhere (which I didn't use in the end). As a result of Christmas card production, my table is now scratched due to the wearing out of my makeshift cutting board (a piece of foolscap paper backing). Mom's gonna kill me. I've also discovered the wonders of spray mount. Thank God for Lasalle. I've so many essential materials lying about my room which helped alot in the making of the cards and envelopes.

Presents distributed. Most of them actually. Still some more to distribute tomorrow. Excess cutlery left over. No idea what to do with them. Have to tidy up my room and get rid of every trace of glitter and restore my table to it's original state. Glitter on the floor. On my bed. EVERYWHERE!!!!

Thought occurred to me. Why do people give out presents on Christmas? It's not even our birthdays?? Sometimes I wonder whether the true meaning of Christmas is lost amidst all the hustle and bustle of the season. People are more concerned about what to buy for other people than the true meaning of Christmas. Why all the fanfare?? There certainly wasn't any fanfare on the night Jesus was born. It was pretty much a silent affair with only His parents, the sheep and shepherds and the wisemen around to witness it. What a quiet, peaceful and meaningful affair. Maybe people shouldn't be too stressed about what to buy for other people or too worried that their presents are too cheap. When Jesus was born as man, He came to Earth first as a tiny baby. He wasn't big, but He sure meant a whole lot to the world. Hmmm. Maybe all of us should take some time off the season's activity to reflect on that one special night that marked the salvation of the world and not be caught up in the giving and exchanging of presents. So I wish all you guys reading this a BLESSED and MEANINGFUL CHRISTMAS!!!!

-- Ok, I'm not using this as an excuse to give out cheap gifts next year. Haha. My gifts are always unique. Heheh. --

Ok, serious moment over. Popeye'd with Melissa and Kamal after service and the busy exchange of gifts. Dozed off on the bus on the way home. Super tired.

Better log off now. Nigel's waiting for the modem and I still have cards to write. I'm looking forward to sleeping in the night rather than in the morning. So bye bye world!!!
