Catching up on time

People normally look forward to Friday because it signals the end of one long week at school or work. I however, am easily contented, so I usually settle for Tuesday because I don't have classes the next day so I can sleep in. It's a nice reprieve in the middle of the week. Allows us to recharge our batteries so we can last till the weekend. So since it's Tuesday, I've decided to catch you guys up [more or less] with what has been going on in my life thus far.

Friday

I was waiting for Agnes in church so we could set off for the retreat, so I was watching the St. Andrew's waterpolo boys training. Really stirred up feelings of nostalgia in me. I miss playing waterpolo. Although training was often tough, and I didn't mix well with the other girls because I was still considered a newbie, I still miss chasing the ball up and down the pool, and the feeling of ecstasy everytime I shot a goal. I had a great time in KL when 11 of us went for 3 days of matches there. It was a bonding time for us in a way, and I still remembered Jac Chow and myself laughing crazily over basically nothing. I miss waterpolo. Maybe I'll go back one day, but it would definitely be a little weird [OK, a lot weird] seeing as how I've quit more than 1 year ago.

Ascension Women's Retreat [Friday - Saturday]

I was about to change my mind about going for the retreat because of the huge pile of school assignments that has to be completed by the following week. When they asked me to sign up for the retreat, my mind was screaming out a warning. I didn't go last year because of school, and I knew that this time I would have school assignments to complete. Still I went anyway [might as well make my money's worth], and sometimes God uses opportunities to bless us in ways that we can never imagine.

Although I knew I had work to do [which I brought along with me], I was still able to shove all thoughts of that into the little dusty cabinet at the back of my mind and fully gain from the sessions. Even though I had to shovel food into my mouth so I can rush off for worship practices, I still had a good time of rest and relaxation. By that I mean time spent away from school and all thoughts of assignments. At the end of it all, I'm glad I went for the retreat. I received from God in so many ways, and I'm excited to discover more of what He has promised me.

Tuesday

It's only the 3rd week of school and I've missed morning class. I woke up with the mother of all stomach pains. I had to stagger to the loo, and I was whimpering on the toilet bowl trying to poo, which resulted in nothing because it wasn't poo pain. It was just some random stomachache that had me curled up on the bed in pain and queasiness. I decided to sleep the pain away and hence only went to school for afternoon class. At least Xin Wei has approved of the Literature Review topic so I can go ahead and do what I love to do best: Research and Essay Writing. I'm a nerd.
