My week so far...

QUOTE of the Day: Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present. - Jim Rohn

Monday:
1st day of school: Media Arts

Learnt the basics of Freehand. Lesson was pretty much alright until Nadia rattled on and left me on some distant planet in another galaxy. So I started stoning and doing my own stuff.

1st training of 2005 for me. Did stretch cords which left me armless and then 40 sprints which totally murdered me. Louis is mad. I...WAS...DYING. But after the sprints, training became fun again. Hated the bugs in the pool though. Stupid rainy weather. All the flies and beetles and big fat whatevers decided to go swimming but drowned in the process. Hence, the pool was buggy. Last week was worse. The surface of the water was completely covered with little brown bodies:

Val: Let's part the red sea.
Me: All these bugs remind me of Coco Pops.
Val: EEEEWWWW! YUCK!! That's so gross! I can't believe you just said that!
BJ: I'm never eating Coco Pops again.
Brenda and Angeline: Yucks! So disgusting!

Tuesday:
2nd day of school (by far the worse day of the week): Design

Tuesdays are disgusting. The timetable is hideous. We have two different lessons on design, both of which are equally heavy. That means workload for Tuesdays will be super heavy. Sheesh. Teachers are alright. Both women. Tendency to PMS very high.

Wednesday:
3rd day of school: Visual Studies and Art Theory

I think Wednesday is my favoritest day of the week. Well, apart from Monday. I just love Wednesdays 'cos they mark the middle of the week. And the lessons are not THAT demanding and I love Kim Ho and Visual Studies work. Haha.

Trudged over to KFC for lunch. Saw the whole CJ J1 cohort. They were there for dragon boating as part of their orientation program. So lucky. My orientation was held in school. So boring, and lame.
Games like 'Wacko' and 'Blow Wind Blow' are like so totally yesterday. Anyway, saw Miss Lim and Mr Tan so I spoke to them for awhile. Seeing all the blue CJ people really brought back memories of my JC days. Man! I miss those times. Oh yeah! Was surprised to see Ming too. Had no idea she was in CJ.

Talked spooky talks with Shion, Steph and Minyen. Super interesting.

Training just about killed me (again). Nicole didn't swim 'cos she wasn't feeling well so it was just the older girls and me and honestly I was abit scared 'cos they're like so FAST. I think dying is an understatement but I don't know how else to describe training just now. Didn't really have fun. My shots were like off. Bleah. Back aching now.

Random Thoughts on the recent Quake and Tsunami tragedy:

I think this tragedy further quantifies the evanescence of life. I think many people take life for granted and they don't really see how ephemeral life is until a tragedy of this magnitude strikes. But such a tragedy also serves to bring out the best in people. We see generous donations by people from all over the world. Even people who don't have much, donate as much as their
finances allow them to. People queue up to donate money, clothes, medicine, blankets and what have you. People volunteering to go help out in the devastated areas. People from all over the world coming together to do whatever they can, to the best of their abilities, to clean up these areas. I was just reading the papers and they reported on foreigners who choose to stay behind in places like Phuket, to help clean up the place. I think it's really heartwarming to see how people respond in times of crisis. It's during times like these that we see how strong the human spirit is and how united people can be regardless of race, religion or gender. This tragedy has brought everybody together and I think it's really touching.

Been hearing this really nice song on radio. Heard it 3 times but I just cannot seem to find out what the title is or who the singer is. So annoying.

Well, time to go do my work. I resolve to be a nerd/geek this semester. So long bloggy!
