I found my own little piece of heaven today when Nihaam and I accompanied Jaya to Arab Street to get her materials. We stumbled upon this shop choked full (floor to ceiling in every direction) with goodies that dated back to when I was in Primary 1, which was like 14 years ago. For instance, this shop sold boxes of Hiro cakes, which basically went extinct a long long long time ago. We were all going crazy in that little shop. Besides our childhood favorites, there were boxes and boxes of different chocolates and candies, and big bags of peanuts. Talk about paradise. It's the kind of shop that magically appears around a corner, waiting for you to find it, and then when you return to that exact same spot the next day, the shop isn't there anymore. We spent some time in there trying to decide on what to buy, while at the same time fighting the overwhelming urge to just spend the rest of the day in that shop. I bet the owners of the shop were amused at our antics. They probably thought we hadn't seen food before. Just imagine: 3 crazy girls rushing from packet of peanuts to bottles of sweets and chocolates and yelling (technically) "Oooohh yummy yummy!!" or "Ooooohhhh look at this look at this!!" We were like kids in a zoo...Ok, on second thought, nah. Kids don't go "yummy yummy" at the sight of animals. Maybe some do. Ooohhh...gross. I like eating chickens, but I don't salivate at the sight of them pecking at their food on the ground. That would be disturbing. And strange.
