The Poets' Society

Ok, I came up with this poem yesterday. AND I would like to clarify that it doesn't mean anything, so please dispel any notion that any of you might have, of me being in love or being out of love or whatever because that is NOT why I wrote the poem. I only came up with the poem because the line "Now I've come out of it, stronger" kept swimming about in my head 2 days ago, so I've decided to write a poem containing this particular line and the only poem that I could come up with was this one. So don't let your imagination run wild.

MEMORIES

Fare thee well, I say to you
Never to meet again anytime soon
Parting is such sweet sorrow
After you, my heart will always follow

Thank you for the memories and times
Of when we were as free as kites
Soaring against the clear blue skies
Then disappearing forever in my eyes

The day you left a hole in my heart
I felt like I was being torn apart
As the tears silently fell
The pain inside, only time can quell

Now I've come out of it, stronger
I know we'll never belong together
I've picked up the pieces of my shattered heart
And realised that it was pointless in showing you my cards

Wherever you may now be
I only wish for you peace
And happiness all the days through
Because a long time ago, I once loved you
