Walk on
I love long walks by the beach. Sounds like the intro to a cheesy advert in some sleazy dating site. It doesn't necessarily have to be by the beach, because let's face it, the beaches in Singapore don't live up to the 'white-sandy-beach-with-clear-aquamarine-waters-and-palm-trees' variety. If I wanted to walk along mucky pavements strewn with sharp stones, dead leaves and branches, I would head somewhere other than the beach for no other reason other than the fact that it's dirty and inconvenient. Sometimes when the sky is clear and blue, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping and a warm breeze gently ruffles the leaves on the trees, it puts me in a contemplative mood and during moments like these, I like listening to my mp3 and taking a long casual stroll, and sometimes either talking to God and spending some time with Him, or just simply reflecting on my life. It really is the niche in which I escape to from the world even though it may just be a 10 minute stroll home from the NEL station. It doesn't even have to be a clear sunny day. As long as there aren't many people or much traffic around, I can go on one of my long walks armed with my mp3 and most comfortable choice of footwear [flip flops]. I delight in the simplicity of life.
